Multi-wire springs are made from wire strands with a wide variety of strand structures and are used as helical compression, torsion or shaped springs. Our multi-wire springs are technically advanced products. They are mainly used when single-wire springs made of round or profile wire fail due to high impact loads and high impact frequencies or cannot guarantee operational safety. Due to the structure of the strands, increased spring forces and reduced torsional stresses occur in multi-wire springs with large spring deflections compared to single-wire springs.
The tensile stresses in the wire cross-section significantly weaken the spring-destroying torsional stresses and thus increase the damping.
